Study Sessions for Tours
Regulated by the Commandont's Office, Study Sessions for Tours offers a way for cadets to serve tour punishments in the Writing and Learning Center. This option is available to all cadets and allows them to receive tour credit in exchange for study time.
During these sessions, participants may use valuable resources such as experienced tutors and consultants, a computer lab, useful publications such as The Bedford Handbook and APA Style Guide, and other helpful materials offered by the Writing and Learning Center.
Location:
- Thompson Hall 117
- Overflow in Grimsley Hall Auditorium
Time:
- Wednesdays from 1500 to 1800 hours
- Saturdays from 1400 to 1700 hours
- Sundays from 1400 to 1800 hours
Receiving Credit:
- All fourth-class cadets are eligible to receive one tour credit for each hour completed (1 hour = 1 tour).
- This same 1 for 1 tour ratio is available to upper-class cadets with a cumulative GPR of 2.00 or below.
- Upper-class cadets with a GPR above a 2.00 will receive one tour credit for every two hours of study (2 hours = 1 tour).
Policies & Procedures:
- All cadets MUST sign in at the beginning of each hour and out at the end of each hour to receive tour credit.
- Sign-ins MUST be legible and must include the cadet's first name, middle initial, last name, and CIT number in order to receive tour credit.
- Late Policy: No one will be allowed to participate if they are more than ten minutes late; those who are ten minutes late must forfeit their ten minute break.
- No food, drink, or talking is allowed during Study Sessions for Tours.
- The computer lab may be used for academic purposes during these sessions.
- As delegated to them by the Commandant, monitors have the authority to deny credit to any cadet who does not abide by these policies and procedures.
