    Learning Strategies sessions consist of one-on-one appointments that concentrate on the specific needs of each cadet. Strengths are accentutated, and weaknesses are addressed to ensure every cadet has the opportunity to succeed.

Learning Strategies Tips

• Read everything you are assigned. You will be tested on material that isn't covered in class.
• Use a Planner to organize schoolwork, activities, and time. Is it fun? Not really. But neither is failing.
• Write assignments down immediately.
• Read your assignments before class. Staying ahead is much easier than catching up.
• Take notes in class and while reading.
• Keep academics first.... Shining shoes will never equal a degree.
• Use folders and notebooks of the same color for your Mon/Wed/Fri classes and a different color for your Tues/Thurs classes. When you're half asleep and packing your bag in the morning, the only thing you'll have to remember is the color of the day.
• Do whatever it takes to stay awake in class. No matter how many people are in your class, no matter where you sit, your professor knows you're asleep, and it affects your grade.
• Ask questions. Listen. Repeat the two previous steps.
• Deal with issues while they're small. Manage your time and stay ahead of any potential problems.
• Talk to your professors in class and during their office hours.
